Welcome to the Mid-Atlantic Surf Fishing Academy
It is our goal to teach new surfcasters how to surf fish and increase their odds of success and to help experienced surf fisher folks to refine their skills to add new levels of excitement to your excursions!

During a full day Academy Experience with we will provide hands on instruction from an International Game Fishing Association Captian/Guide on: • Reading the beach to select a spot that will potentially hold fish• Reading the conditions to determine how to fish a specific hole or trough (aka slew)• Knot tying for specific purposes• Rigging, Baiting, and Casting• Determining the best times to fish based on Tides, Wind and other factors• Watching the water and the Birds for subtle hints on what may be feeding and where• All this and much much more!
(3 and 4 hr. trips receive abbreviated instruction)
We will provide everything you need to explore Surf Fishing without an enormous upfront outlay of cash.
We are confident you will enjoy Surf Fishing. Once you decide you’d like to pursue this wonderful sport, we would love to help you out with some high-quality beginner or more advanced rods and reels, which will be available for you to purchase. We can also make suggestions if you wish to look at some of the local tackle shops to round out your gear. If you have no room to take gear home, we can arrange for shipping. Our goal is for you to obtain the knowledge and skills during your trip that will allow you to go out on your own and be a successful surf fisherman.
